This piece, so beautifully played, must inspire you! You are fortunate to play such lovely instrument. Keep striving!

He was first concertmaster (and the youngest) during the 90's under Abbado. (So in the clip he is concertmaster). Now he is a soloist and temporary leader of different ensembles. By the way, he is the youngest son of the composer Boris Blacher.

This is the piece that made me fall in love with my future husband in 1983. I guess he had to marry me to get his cassette tape back!

Yes, I have a recording of susan Lautenbach, played very sweetly. I must admit however that I like her version better, being a woman with a lot of passion...

Incredible, that was beautifully played. I play the violin as well, but I am no where near that level yet.

i like his darker music after he started going deaf and having problems

He played it with a Germanic sense of Romanticism rather than the passionate, schmalzy way most fiddlers play it now. I liked it very much.

you can tell the lead violinist is really into the music.

I think he is. He is one of the concertmasters in Berlin Phil. and a soloist.

He plays so tastefully and clean, almost as if he was the solo concertmaster - and that's meant as a compliment in my book.

Very sensibly and intelligently played, although I personally prefer a slower tempo.
