You brought up one of the few quotes saying a believer will get what they ask in pray, and that refutes the claim that God does not always give what is asked. I have nothing against Christianity and I think that the idea of God is cool and everything, but some people need to stop taking the Bible so literally. My advice is to watch the movie Dogma. The story of Job, as you probably know, involves the devil trying to wrest Job's soul away from God, although He knows Job will remain faithful. The hazy part of this story is that the bad things that happened to Job were not God's doing, and it is unsure how much influence the devil could have had. Besides, it is not God's job to heal injustice or to make our lives easier.
