Description:

Chris Matthews discusses the issue with Mark Finelli an Iraq War veteren and John Bruhns from Americans Against Escalation in Iraq. Finelli actually says that we needed to go into Iraq to establish military bases there since the Saudi's were kicking us out.

I had just missed this discussion on TV, so thanks for the prompt posting of this video. One minor quibble: it's actually from "Hardball" with instead of "Countdown".

Thanks very much and I corrected it. Easy typo to make when I had my notes for some Countdown video being typed up at the same time. I got the tags right...lol.

Representative Charles Rangel from NYC wanted to bring back the draft. His reason- "<i>There's no question in my mind that this president and this administration would never have invaded Iraq, especially on the flimsy evidence that was presented to the Congress, if indeed we had a draft and members of Congress and the administration thought that their kids from their communities would be placed in harm's way.</i>" A similar reason to Mark Finelli's wanting to reinstate the draft.

Hello Mark. It's really unexpected to see a contributor on Hardball here on youtube with us. I am responding to you to ask you a question regarding your experience with these MRAP trucks, or lack thereof. You said that you hardly saw any of these in service with the soldiers, and when you see them they belonged to private companies. I would like to know why is this possible. How do private companies get these vehicles that U.S. Marines don't?

I think a draft is a great idea as long as Cheney, Bush, Rice and Rumfeld are the first on the draft and are guaranteed a frontline spot in the most hard fought place. They have most to gain so they have most incentive to fight.
